The four main comprehension areas we cover are: Plot Summary, Theme, Characterization, and Vocabulary. I use varied methods of instruction and evaluation to bring these areas to light. Each student can expect to give at least one research-based oral report, write and read poetry, learn to read for fun (hopefully), read plays aloud, evaluate different types of genre, and begin to think critically about what he or she “reads” in the media.
