Eighth Grade Pen Pals Visit Salem Heights
Eighth graders had an educational and exciting trip to Salem Heights to visit their pen pals once again in February. Greeting the Sisters with Valentine cards and letters, the students were anxious to sit and talk face to face with their new friends. The Sisters treated the students to a tour of the convent, sharing with them so many interesting paintings, history, and stories. We also had a chance to see their lovely bird aviary, their typical living quarters, and their beautiful chapel where we all shared a prayer together.
Once again, students displayed such high respect, kindness, and patience with the Sisters. I am very proud of them. Written reflections of this visit are posted outside of room 12 so please visit anytime to read them.

Sisters and 8th graders share lunch and tour of Salem Heights
Pen Pal Sister Project 8th graders and the Sisters of the Precious Blood became good friends throughout the school year. They shared stories, letters, hugs, meals, and friendship. Students learned to be good listeners, kind, respectful, and patient during the year with the project. They looked forward to and enjoyed their visits with the Sisters. They were also honored to have the Sisters attend 8th grade graduation.
