Mrs. Painter & Mr. Monita

Lorenz-Williams Design and Architecture Firm is the oldest firm of its kind in Dayton.  They have been around for 83 years and we were very privileged to have two of their workers in class.  Mrs. Painter and Mr. Monita gave a very impressive presentation for the eighth graders.

 Using the Enoboard, they showed a PowerPoint of the many jobs they've designed around Dayton and the students recognized, or have been in, many of them.  They also showed the class what some buildings looked like before they designed them and the after photos.

They  explained to the students their goals as a company and how they focus on health, education, and designing to last for many years so buildings do not look dated.  After giving some background, the students learned that Mrs. Painter's job is to draw, design, pick colors etc. for clients, but Mr. Monita has a much different job.  He is responsible for giving the presentations to current and future clients.  Mrs. Painter and Mr. Monita also helped the students design a new classroom!

The students were very excited about this visit and wished we had more time with them.
