How You Can Help Your Child Develop as a
Writer

Students
will have the opportunity to earn CHANCE cards (tickets) by
demonstrating good behavior. When I see students acting as good
examples, I will give them CHANCE cards. Students will write their name
on the card and drop it in a canister. At the end of each week, we will
have a drawing. If a student’s name is drawn, he/she will receive a
prize. The reason they are called CHANCE cards is because they work
similar to a lottery…there is only a CHANCE that a student might win a
prize. That chance, however, should motivate them to be on their best
behavior.
