What makes your preschool different than other programs?

There are several answers to this question.  First of all we are a faith-based center.  Jesus plays a very important role in our daily curriculum.  We pray with the children each day and sing songs that deal with the teachings of Jesus Christ.  Special holidays such as Christmas focus on the “reason for the season”.  You may also hear a teacher respond to a particular situation with the question, “What would Jesus do?”  This aspect of the Precious Blood Preschool makes us unique.

The focus of our program is “learning through play and hands on experiences”.  Our program consists of morning circle time which actively involves the children in calendar work, discussion of the weather, practice with counting and colors, special sharing opportunities, and practice with listening skills.

Classroom time provides the children with the opportunity to work in small groups to complete a project or allows time for one-on-one interaction with the teacher.  Learning stations are set up throughout the classroom for the children to explore.  This includes the use of computers.  The activities provided to the children are exciting to them yet still teach them the basic skills needed for later school experiences.

Finally, it is the group of people at the Precious Blood Preschool who make this program unique.  The staff consists of experienced professional teachers as well as women who are in the process of completing their early childhood degree.  They are here for one reason…to care for and educate your children.

What will my child need in order to start school?

All children must be fully potty trained and 2 1/2 years of age by the beginning of the school year.  A registration form must be completed and the registration fee paid in order for your child to be placed on a class list.  Once you have registered, a school calendar will be sent to you that will include the date of the open house in which you will receive a student supply list, a handbook, and a packet of emergency forms that will be completed by you and kept on record at the preschool.

I work all day and will not get the opportunity to see my child’s teacher.  Will there be a way for us to communicate?

YES!  You are welcome and encouraged to call or visit the preschool at any time if you have concerns about your child or just want an update on how he/she is doing.  Every week you will receive a classroom newsletter that lets you know what you child has participated in and completed.  Every month you will receive a preschool newsletter that will inform you of any upcoming events.  Conferences will be held twice a year in order to discuss the evaluations completed by the teachers and to answer questions about your child’s progress in school.
